The Kendriya Vidyalaya Kausani,Bageshwar Uttrakhand was established in April 2003 under civil sector and since then the Vidyalaya is providing excellent facilities to the students for overall development besides paying full attention towards studies and academic excellence to establish landmarks in the Board exams and different professional courses. The KV is upto XII standard .There is 1 section per class.The Vidyalaya has established a reputation of being one of the best Educational Institute of Bageshwar. The Vidyalaya is affiliated to CBSE vide its letter No. CBSE/AFFL/3500041/09/15446-49 dated 26-06-2009 w.e.f. 01-04-09.

The Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education, (H.R.D.) Govt. of India, New Delhi as a result of the recommendations of the Second Pay Commission. They primarily cater to the education needs of the children of Central Govt. Employees including Defence Personnel and floating population liable to frequent transfers throughout the country. Needless to say, therefore they have common syllabus and are affiliated to the central board of Secondary Education, New Delhi .
Every school, hence is a 'Miniature India' in itself and tries to inculcate in its students feelings of patriotism, brotherhood and national integration. Places chosen for establishing Kendriya Vidyalayas are those having concentration of Defence Personnel and other transferable Central Govt. Employees for admission. The Vidyalayas give priority to the children of transferable Defence Personnel, Central Govt. Employees and personnel of All India Service but other floating population desirous of having such common pattern of education are also eligible for admission to the remaining seats . The instruction is imparted through the medium of Hindi and English in these Vidyalayas , the ultimate object, being to enable pupils to achieve a reasonable measure of proficiency in both the languages . The Vidyalayas prepare pupils for All India Secondary School Examination and Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
